What We Do
State, County, and Local members work side by side to serve the public and improve the law enforcement profession. We are also committed to improving the working conditions and quality of life issues for law enforcement officers through education, legislation, litigation, and employee representation.
Who We Are
The Michigan State Lodge Fraternal Order of Police is one of Michigan’s oldest and largest organization of sworn law enforcement officers, and The Voice of Michigan Law Enforcement™️. The State lodge was formed in 1939 and currently has a membership of over 11,000 men and women in 52 individual lodges. We are the voice of those who dedicate their lives to protecting and serving our communities.
Our Mission
The Fraternal Order of Police is the voice of law enforcement. The mission of the State Lodge of Michigan is to solidify the confidence of the public in law enforcement, including the representation of law enforcement in all areas legislatively, and thereby promote social, charitable, and educational activities among all law enforcement officers through the spirit of fraternalism.
